Ramadan Course 2026/1447: A Journey of Consciousness

Course Overview 30 Days, 30 Themes

"الصَّوْمُ صِفَةٌ صَمَدَانِيَّةٌ، وَهُوَ لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، وَلَيْسَ لِغَيْرِهِ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ."

Fasting is a Samadani (eternal, self-sufficient) quality; it belongs to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, and no one else possesses a share of it. - Ibn Arabi, the Futuhat al-Makkiyya (The Meccan Revelations), Chapter 71: "The Mysteries of Fasting"

The Ramadan 2026: Journey of Consciousness course offers a comprehensive thirty-day spiritual curriculum anchored by three core activities designed to deepen the fasting experience.

  • First, participants engage in daily reflections based on Dr. Fawzia al-Rawi’s book The Call of Allah, which provides a thematic structure—ranging from Taqwa (God-Consciousness) to Sabr (Patience)—through daily texts, audio lessons, and guided meditations/dhikrs.
  • Second, the course enriches these themes with supplementary mystical commentaries from renowned Sufi masters, specifically drawing from Ibn Arabi’s Futuhat al-Makkiyya, Abd al-Razzaq al-Kashani’s esoteric exegesis, and Ibn Ajiba’s Al-Bahr al-Madīd, offering profound insights into the inner meanings of the Qur'an.
  • Finally, the learning experience is supported by live talks and workshops featuring a diverse lineup of guest teachers, including Dr. Fawzia Al-Rawi, Dr. Lahouari Ramzi Taleb, Cheikh Sufi, and A. Helwa, alongside specialized sessions like "Writing from the Heart" with Jamila Vicki Davies to foster personal spiritual expression.

About the Book: The Call of Allah

At the heart of this course lies The Call of ALLAH: A Companion to the Holy Month of Ramadan, a book celebrated for its spiritual warmth and profound depth. Designed to serve as your daily guide throughout Ramadan, this companion offers reflective meditations, heartfelt prayers, and insightful reflections for each day. Within its pages, Dr. Fawzia al-Rawi charts a transformative path, reminding us that “Allah describes this month as the one in which the Qur’an was revealed,” and that fasting serves as a means to deeply engage with the Qur’anic guidance.

Each chapter centers on a core theme—whether fasting, patience, gratitude, or another virtue—seamlessly interweaving Quranic verses, Prophetic insights, and inspiring narratives. The book presents fasting not as a mere hardship but as a sacred gateway to divine guidance and closeness to Allah. By willingly embracing hunger and restraint, we confront our own vulnerabilities, learning to depend wholly on Allah. As the text eloquently states, “Through fasting, we come to realise our weaknesses and how we depend on all of Allah’s gifts, and we experience His love, His closeness and His care for us.”

In these daily reflections, fasting transforms into an act of love, inviting us to open our hearts to the illuminating guidance of the Qur’an and to bask in the divine embrace. With its carefully crafted meditations and supplications for each day, this companion encourages deep contemplation, sincere prayer, and a renewed appreciation for every moment of Ramadan—turning each fast into a personal dialogue with the Creator, filled with wisdom and peace.

Daily readings and audio will be provided. The book is also available for purchase on amazon and kindle

Salam,

I am Ida from Singapore, and I’ve been part of this year’s Ramadan Course. I felt called to send a personal message to share how deeply healing this experience has been for me. Thank you for creating and offering such a beautiful journey. Though I’m about ten days behind, as I’m taking my time to savor the teachings, the experience already feels life-transforming.

I don’t necessarily identify as a Muslim—at least, it has never been a big part of my identity, nor something I felt connected to. I was born into a Muslim family, but all my life, I only knew the outer face of Islam. Being Muslim often felt like a burden because I was taught more about rules, control, and restriction rather than true connection with God. It carried a lot of trauma for me, and this Ramadan Course has healed so much of that.

Despite not feeling connected to Islam, I have always been a seeker—drawn to the esoteric and mystical, maintaining my faith in God through syncretic and universal practices. At some point in my journey, I realized that my connection with God still felt limited because I had never truly confronted my resistance toward Islam. I never imagined I could approach Islam in a way that resonates deeply with my heart and creates space for my true self. This course has completely changed that for me.

Reading the supplementary materials and the mystical teachings that have existed for centuries, I’m in awe of how deep the tradition truly is. It feels like what I have been seeking all along, even since childhood. I have never been able to fast in my life, even when I tried, but this Ramadan, I have fasted more regularly than I ever thought possible. I never understood salat beyond external postures and memorization, but for the first time, I went to the mosque of my own will to pray, feeling a sense of belonging there that I've never felt before. I'm deeply grateful that this course came into my path at the right time in my journey. Alhamdulillah.

So thank you, once again, for sharing your work and offering it to the world. I look forward to continuing my journey with The Hikmah Project and deepening my learning in a consistent way with your future offerings. Insha Allah.

With warmth,

Ida Liana

Jamila's course helped me open a part of my creativity that I felt was forever blocked. Healing is a journey but I'm glad I have writing as part of my navigation tools thanks to Jamila, her listening and loving presence. Alhamdhulillah - anon

I loved the gentle guidance of Jamila Davies. Her presence is a true gift. Loved the way she responded to our writings. This course with Jamila was amazing. I learned a new skill that i believe will benefit me for the rest of my life. It’s what i needed during one of the most difficult times in my life where my heart needed to be heard. - Nasheela Khan
